Our Mountain Wedding Venue in WNC
Before driving up
People often wonder: Do trees block cell phone signals? The answer is a RESOUNDING yes. Trees, mountains, hills, and even weather affect your 4G, LTE, and 5G signals.
Set your GPS before driving up and also before driving down Bearwallow Mountain.
Our mountain venue is gorgeous, but don’t forget to prepare for the other things that come along with being out in nature.
It is at least 10 degrees cooler up in the mountains (usually). A long sleeve shirt or jacket is always recommended in case it's windy.
Bring sunglasses, sun screen, light jacket, hat, umbrella (great for rain or sun), bug spray, and any other essential items you might need.
We highly recommend having at least half tank on your way up to the cabin. The closest gas station or any convenience store is about 20 minutes away.

There are 2 ways to drive up the mountain.
One is paved all the way, the other is not.
You won't need a 4x4 or SUV to get to Cabin Heaven.
Avoid the route below. Any other route you're fine!

Driving up through Gerton
As mentioned before, we STRONGLY discourage using: US 74 ALT East (usually coming from Asheville passing through Gerton).
Google Maps sometimes offer a shortcut to save you 2 minutes but it's not worth it.
A significant portion of the road is uneven gravel and not well lit.
If you choose to take this route, take it at your own risk.

*Please note: If you get lost, our cabin is 5 minutes before you get to "Grand Highlands" (there are signs posted along the way).
